To God be the Glory
I don’t know about you all but our last few months have been busy! We are so thankful to each of you who continue to lift us up in prayer and are excited to see what God is doing in the work of Latin American Church Planting.
In the last few months, we have continued to labor in the encouraging and equipping of Latin American Nationals. Training, teaching, preaching, and discipleship are regular rythms on many fronts, and we are thankful for the work the Lord is doing.
Local Spanish Study
In February, I began working with a group through the abwe seminary in Bogota, Columbia. Much of the seminary went online in the last few years and only gather for special events. It has been a joy to be training nationals in the work of church planting through this platform. The hours are long and often late, but God is using these classes to allow us to spread a passion for local church planting in and around the Bogota area. Continue to pray with us as we are still desiring to see a work begin in Cucuta, a city on the Venzuela-Columbia border.

On the Peruvian front, we continue to invest time and efforts into Peru. There are plans shaping up to be in country in October as we continue to pour encouragement and practical training into 3 Primary regions. One of those is in the Central Jungle of Peru. We have been asked to do some training of nationals there as they seek to take a leadership role in the work of intentional multiplication and Church planting. We are due in Arequipa as well. And what a joy to see how the church has grown there! From a discouraged group of believers to a multiplying, joyful church in a very short window of time. God did that. And He gets al of the Glory! Continue to pray for David, Renee, and Herman as they lead.
First All Spanish Service
On the Uruguay front, the last several months have been key. Our friends Daniel and Johanna are serving there. As we have continued pouring in with them, God has opened really big doors of service as well as a vision for reaching a heavily unreached suburb of Montivideo, called los Cerros. Pray for Daniel and Johanna, that the Lord would make them fruitful in this season. Our hope is to have the opportunity to be in region with them at some point in the next few months to help them with leadership training and establishing a plan for intentional growth and future Church planting.
On the USA front, God has really blessed with opportunities to invest in our Hispanic community here. In January, we were able to help launch an all-Spanish Service with Living Waters. It is only once per month for now, with the remaining other weeks having live translation. We are already seeing early fruit with open doors for the Gospel. God has allowed us to be involved as well in the Spanish Men’s discipleship group that currently has 6 nations represented and counting. As we see God raise up men, we are hopeful that He will send some back to their country of origin for furtherance of the Gospel there. May HE do it.
Local Men’s Spanish Study
As a family, we are really blessed to be able to serve. Our kids have caught a vision for it as well. Our home is quickly becoming a hub for the neighborhood kids and adults alike. Our Liam has been faithful to invite boys from the neighborhood to youth group and just to be present with Him at our home. Our other 3 are thrilled with the new friendships in our neighborhood and we pray for the salvation of our neighbors regularly. Just the other day, we were able to host our Hispanic neighbors for coffee, as the kids played, and start a gospel conversation. Pray for them, that they might be saved.
As we are in Spring headed to summer, we have several connections to make in this season as we are in need of updating churches in person, meeting with new churches and individuals, and seeking to raise our current support shortage. God has been kind to us, supplied all of our needs, and will continue to do so.
With Resurrection Sunday just a short few days away, be encouraged! God is using you. Your prayers and continued support is seeing fruit. Salvation of lost people, churches gaining a vision to plant churches, and God receiving all the Glory.
