Building Season

If you look around this time of year, you might see a lot of building projects around as people improve their homes, road construction abounds, and movement happens. We’re grateful for God’s grace as new doors have opened, and it has been a building season for us as well.

We recently moved into our “new” 1956 home near the Des Moines airport—a key help as we travel for Latin American church planting. The house needed major repairs, but we’re thankful to have made it livable.

Special thanks to my Dad for helping us get the kitchen installed so we could move in!

Building into the lives of men is in full force as God continues to open meaningful opportunities as we invest in our Latin American partners. Please keep praying for the work in Lima, where changing the approach to church planting is a challenge. As local leaders take the lead, there’s a lot of discipleship needed—but we’re seeing the beginnings of fruit. Please be in prayer as well for 3 other regions in which we are seeing national believers be encouraged and trained to reach their communities.

With Gospel Centered Recovery South (GCR), we recently completed the build phase and have begun discipling men who are seeking new life. God is doing great things in South Des Moines and we praise the Lord for this. Helping build health and discipleship with the men here is a joy as we see God at work. Pray that God continue drawing men to himself and the house as it is a great platform to see men come to Christ and walk with Him.

This year, I also had the privilege of taking our boys to Junior Boys Camp as their counselor—a special opportunity to share God’s Word and bring our church intern, Andre, along. It’s rewarding to see growth as we mentor him, even as he joins us in outreach efforts for VBS at Living Waters Fellowship.

Pray for our connections in Colombia as we hope to start a work along the Venezuelan border. It’s a challenging area, but our desire is to encourage and equip local believers to plant healthy, gospel-centered churches where they’re most needed.

Its been a joy pouring into and serving with Andre, our LWF resident this year. His desire is to return to Peru to serve.

Thank you for your support and prayers as we serve as an extension of your ministry both in Latin America as well as here in Des Moines. Jesus is building His church, and we’re grateful to be a small part of it.
